Why Tilsit can build machines at lower cost:
- Documentation for individual components of the machine is not generated. This can add 20% to a machine's cost. If a part were to break, we do not send prints out to a machine shop to make a replacement. We replace, repair or improve on the part as we see fit.
- We will incorporate used components in our machine. For instance, a vibratory bowl feeder taken out of service from another machine may serve our purposes well with minor or no modifications. This saves time and expense from having a feeder built from scratch.
- We are not concerned with the uniform paint job and other aesthetics that would be required for a machine for sale.
- We train our own operators in the operation of a machine. Typically, there are a few items that may cause a machine to stop, i.e. low limits on feeders, missing parts, incomplete function, etc. On a machine for sale there would need to be some sort of feedback to a control panel indicating the reason for the halt. We have found that with a properly trained operator, most of these causes are readily apparent with a cursory overview.
- There is always room for improvement on a machine. When you are building a machine for sale, there is a deadline. When it stays in-house, the improvement process continues.
